Another left foot goal gives Pachuca victory over America
Pachuca took an important victory against Club America in the second leg of the Liga MX Apertura 2023 semifinals, the goal was scored by Nicolas Ibanez.
The match took place at the Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Hidalgo, in front of a sold-out crowd. The first half was evenly matched, with both teams having chances to score. Pachuca had the best chance of the half when Nico Ibanez hit the post in the 20th minute. Club America also had a few chances, but they were unable to capitalize.
The second half was more open, with both teams pushing for the win. Pachuca took the lead in the 65th minute when Nicolas Ibanez scored a left-footed goal from outside the area. Club America pushed for the equalizer, but they were unable to find a way past the Pachuca defense.
The victory gives Pachuca a 2-1 aggregate lead heading into the second leg of the semifinals. The second leg will take place at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Sunday, May 28.
Pachuca is now one win away from reaching the Liga MX final. They will be looking to win their first league title since the Clausura 2016.
