Early Life and Career

Maxine Audley was born on April 29, 1923, in London, England. Her father was a lawyer and her mother was a theatrical agent. Audley began her acting career at the age of 17 when she joined the Open Air Theatre Company. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the company's leading actresses.

A Star is Born

In 1947, Audley made her film debut in the movie "The Woman in Black." She went on to appear in over 50 films and television shows, including "Peeping Tom" (1960), "Prime Suspect" (1991), and "The Vikings" (1958). Audley was known for her versatility, playing a wide range of roles from leading ladies to character parts. She was also a talented voice actress, providing voices for several animated films and television shows.

Personal Life

Maxine Audley married actor Leo Maguire in 1952. The couple had two children. Audley died on July 23, 1992, at the age of 69.
