Chelsea Beat Brighton 2-1, Moving Up to Sixth in Premier League
Late Red Card for Reece James Mars Victory
In a thrilling match at the Amex Stadium, Chelsea held on to defeat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1, moving up to sixth place in the Premier League. The Blues have now won four successive league games for the first time since October 2022.
Impressive Performance from Chelsea
Chelsea dominated the match from the start, with Mateo Kovacic and Marc Cucurella both having good chances to score in the first half. The Blues eventually took the lead through Kai Havertz in the 48th minute, and doubled their advantage just 10 minutes later through Reece James.
Unfortunate Red Card for James
However, the match took a dramatic turn in the 77th minute when James was sent off for a second bookable offense. Despite being down to 10 men, Chelsea managed to hold on to their lead, with Kepa Arrizabalaga making some crucial saves.
Brighton's Late Goal
Brighton pulled a goal back in the 90th minute through Deniz Undav, but it was too little, too late for the Seagulls. The result leaves Chelsea in sixth place, just four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
